Hi, I’m João Brandão (pronounced: zhoh-OWN brahn-DOWN), I am a PhD student in the Operations Research & Industrial Engineering program at the University of Texas at Austin.

I previously completed a Master’s in Engineering Management, where I focused on the calibration of risk-mitigating mechanisms in public-private partnership (PPP) projects, with applications to road infrastructure.

Before graduate school, I worked as a software engineer. I was the founding engineer at Lina Open X, where I built systems for financial banking applications, particularly in OpenBanking.
